PROJECT IN PROGRESS
PROJECT IN PROGRESS
A ROCKET IN CAMAROES
There’s a rocket being filled with dreamers in Cameroon.
In 2019, the government officially announced its interest in outer space exploration. But on the ground, a generation of young, ambitious minds aren’t waiting for bureaucratic permission to launch. They are already wondering what lies beyond the skies, teaching the next generation, and actively designing the hardware of tomorrow.
The project’s deep-rooted origin is intensely personal, born from a memory nearly thirty years ago. As a child, my cousin boldly declared his dream to become Cameroon’s first-ever astronaut. Instead of encouragement, he was met with ridicule, mocked for harboring an aspiration that a biased, eurocentric world deemed impossible for a child born outside the global centers of industrial power.
